Ambassador Abdel Majid Kassir is Bachelor of Law (LLB). Upon his graduation he joined the diplomatic service. His career includes postings in Moscow, Conakry, Baghdad, Brussels and Tunisia. He was also appointed as Consul General in Sao Paolo and served at the embassy of Lebanon in Paris.

He was appointed Ambassador of Lebanon to Algeria (1994) then Romania (1999). From 2003 until his retirement, he held the position of Director of the Economic Affairs at the Central Administration.

He is well-versed in Arabic, French and English.

He is married with three daughters.
